Excerpts from 1999 syllabus (full syllabus may be published if the project reopens)
The course is divided into 3 main parts (modules) devoted to the three selected issues of classroom computing and educational media: (i) educational text-based materials, (ii) databases for educational or administrative needs and (iii) web-design computing for educational purposes. The length of each module depends on students' experience in using the computer, i.e. how much time is necessary for the group to get acquainted with an application's basic functions.
The fourth, final module is devoted to the integration of different activities performed since the beginning of the course. Students have already practiced three kinds of educational output: formatted text, database and web-page, respectively. Integrating Activities is a stage at which certain elements of one document can be implemented in another. Different ways of implementation are possible here.
Students are graded according to: their attendance, participation in class debates, and practical output: educational documents (products) developed in each module throughout the course.
